Communications and Marketing Division

The Communications and Marketing Division oversees and manages all facets of the Louisiana Economic Development (LED) brand, while also building awareness of the state's economic development opportunities and achievements through targeted and strategically integrated visual and written communications.

Brand Positioning
All communications and marketing tactics are developed with LED's brand positioning at the forefront: To provide certainty to businesses that are considering expanding or investing in Louisiana.

Objectives
The division's overarching objectives are to direct, manage, create, produce or otherwise enhance marketing tools and programs that:

  • Present and develop a positive business image of Louisiana among the global business community.
  • Generate legitimate inquiries about relocating a business to Louisiana as well as retaining or expanding a business in our state.
  • Clarify LED's role as a catalyst for economic development.

Key Responsibilities
Spearheads the strategic direction and daily management of advertising programs, interactive media and e-news tools, creative development and budgetary matters generated through the contracted partnership with LED's outside agency.

  • Manages LED's full-service public relations program, including ongoing timely responses to media requests for interviews with the LED secretary and general news media inquiries, and coordinating all economic development announcements with the governor's communications office.
  • Establishes & maintains continuity throughout visual and written communications, from print collateral to the web site LouisianaForward.com to presentations.
