Louisiana's Entertainment Industry Explosion

entertainmentLouisiana's entertainment industry has mushroomed in the last five years. Today, a fast-growing native industry offers pre-production, location and post-production facilities, as well as support functions, in each of the state's primary industry hubs: New Orleans, Shreveport and Baton Rouge. In 2007, thanks to widespread knowledge of the state's motion picture production incentive program, film and TV projects reached an all-time high, keeping Louisiana the top U.S. production location outside California and New York.

Since the inception of infrastructure incentives, Louisiana's ability to support the industry in-state continues to grow. As of October 2007, the state boasted more than 570,000 square feet of industry space, including XX studios, YY production companies, and ZZ post-production facilities. In addition, Louisiana-based entrepreneurs and national organizations provide production support statewide. For many, Louisiana's business climate has proved the perfect recipe for success.
